FINAL: home is for healing

This assignment was open-ended, but required for us to make a series of three photos with a cohesive theme or narrative that we could summarize with an artist statement. I chose to take portraits of my model around the theme of the home as a space for comfort, healing, and vulnerability. I took photos of her in her home doing different self-care activities, showing how observing people doing these things in their private space is a very intimate act that tells you a lot about that person. Since it is so important to make sure models are comfortable during shoots, I figured the most comfortable location for someone would be inside their own home surrounded by their belongings.
